Delani is endlessly fascinated by all the ways people connect, communicate, and share their stories.
At Center for People, she brings that curiosity and energy into her work every day. Her approach is joyful, thoughtful, and people-first.
Whether she’s helping build stronger connections or finding new ways to make a difference, she’s always reminding others (and herself) of the dedication it takes to make a difference.
“Something interesting about me is that I used to play on our girls’ golf team at Southwest Highschool here in Lincoln, NE! I tried every single sport under the sun, and none of them were really for me. Not until I tried out golfing with my family did I instantly begin to love it! This definitely doesn’t mean I’m good at it, but it is quite satisfying hitting golf balls on the driving range. Don’t ask me about my short game though.”
“A book that I recently finished is called ‘The Wedding People’ by Alison Espach. A variety of different life events occur in this book, and it really puts it into perspective that life is short, so why waste it on something you don’t love? A movie that always inspires me is, honestly, ‘Wicked’. I think I watched it four times when it first came out and then saw the show on Broadway in NYC not too long ago! It’s such a powerful show. Lastly, a song that inspires me is ‘Vienna’ by Billy Joel, because it’s about following your dreams but reminding yourself that you don’t need to be in a hurry to get there.”
“If I could master any skill, it would be to speak fluently in every single language (including sign language). Being able to connect with people across the world and understand their cultures would be so beneficial! “
“The best advice I’ve received during a difficult time was to take a minute to listen to myself and understand what my needs are. I am a people pleaser through and through, so learning how to navigate that quality in me was challenging since I needed to learn how to start putting myself first. Also, being in a sorority in college definitely taught me how to communicate effectively and how to have hard conversations with others when you aren’t a naturally confrontational person. One of my sorority friends used to say “People can do hard things.” when faced with an issue, and as simple as it is, that has also helped me get through hard times.”
