English Language Learning (ELL) and Refugee Employee Assistance Program (REAP)

English Language Learning (ELL)

Your Key to Culture

When you’re starting over in a new city, so much depends on being able to communicate – your housing, your job, your social circle. Learning to speak the language can turn an overwhelming experience into a new adventure.

We offer free English Language Learning (ELL) classes for anyone for whom English is not their primary language. New students are tested to identify their skill level, and progress through the program at their own speed. Our instructors are highly skilled and dedicated to teaching English and U.S. cultural literacy.

We offer both an introductory morning class and an advanced afternoon class. Students are encouraged to attend whichever class better fits their needs, and each lesson is catered to the needs of the class in attendance.

Morning class:

Monday – Friday | 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Afternoon class:

Monday – Friday | 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Students are kindly requested to arrive within 30 minutes of the lesson’s start. Please note that arrivals after this time may not be admitted to the class.

To create the best learning environment for all participants, children are no longer permitted in our ELL classes. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Refugee Employee Assistance Program (REAP)

Opportunities and beyond.

Our Refugee Employee Assistance Program – or REAP – provides training, education, and career connections for refugees who have newly arrived in our community. As they settle in to life in a new city, REAP helps them discover how they can participate in Nebraska’s workforce.

Many new arrivals enroll in both REAP and our ELL classes.
