As we approach the new year, we all carry aspirations and goals to better ourselves, hopes for where we’ll go, and steps we’ll take to get there.
At Center for People, we believe the courage to dream and the drive to grow are not limited by age. From a child saying “I can” or an adult committing “I will,” every journey begins with a single step, and every step counts.
SHE IS almost a kid herself. Only 16 years old, Lara is the same age as many served by our Toyland program each year.
SHE DOES volunteer with Center for People multiple days every week. She first visited us at age 8, when a family friend enrolled in our People’s Pantry.
SHE CAN pursue any career she chooses, as she excels in school and has the resources, encouragement, and support she needs.
SHE WILL continue her education, with plans to study sociology to understand people and how to best support them.
When you give this holiday season, you’re helping kids believe in magic and adults believe in themselves. Whether they are attending Toyland or enrolling in our year-round programs – covering basic needs, education pathways, and professional development – they are given the confidence to pursue their dreams.
