The CORE Class

Building a strong foundation

The CORE Class is the first step for all participants in our Opening Doors program.

This class is a transformative four-week career readiness program led by Center for People’s staff, both in our facilities and on-site at the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCCL) and the Lancaster County Department of Corrections (LCDC).

During the CORE class, learners gain the basic skills and tools they need for successful reentry, including resume-building, skills training, positive self-perception, interview prep, and community involvement through volunteer work.

What's after CORE?

Beginning a new pathway

We recognize that everyone’s story is different, so we don’t provide one-size-fits-all solutions.

Learners and staff create an Individualized Development Plan (IDP) that outlines an individual’s skills and ambitions, as well as a game plan to take steps forward on their journey.

As part of that journey, we encourage learners to enroll in our Talent Marketplace and continue their education through one of the six prepared pathways offered:

These pathways represent the second step of an individual’s journey toward success.
