Meet Catherine

Workforce Development Specialist

Catherine is a fun-loving and solution-driven member of the Center for People team.

She is a key element of our educational programs and computer lab, always ready to lend a hand with whatever problems our learners encounter. Compassionate and resourceful, she’s dedicated to helping helping our community find answers and opportunities. With a passion for learning, Catherine is pursuing her own education and plans to attend law school in the near future.

What’s a fun or interesting fact about you that most people wouldn’t guess?

“I grew up in South Dakota, and my first job was picking rocks on my grandparents’ farm.”

What’s a book, movie, or song that inspires you and why?

“I am inspired by the song ‘Mavericks’ by the Cavves. This song reminds me that it is okay catching the ground with both knees when you take risks or try new things. The important part is moving on and growing from it.”

If you could instantly master any skill, what would it be and how would you use it?

“I would want to master all languages that way I could understand and enjoy more books, songs, and movies.”

When faced with hard times, what was the best advice you received or the biggest lessons you learned?

“The best advice I received was from a professor. He told me to set your goals higher than you believe is possible. You’ll end up in a better place by not limiting yourself.”
