Meet Lindsey

Strengths Coach and Work Readiness Manager

Lindsey brings energy and passion to everything she does, and is deeply caring and understanding of everyone she meets.

A former University of Nebraska-Lincoln volleyball player, Lindsey’s love for sports and the outdoors inspires her commitment to health, teamwork, and community. Whether she’s running her first half-marathon or focusing on being present in the moment, Lindsey thrives on challenges and connections.

What’s a fun or interesting fact about you that most people wouldn’t guess?

“I was born in Billings, MT, and then moved to Denver, CO, where I found my love of volleyball. I moved to Lincoln, NE, to play volleyball for Nebraska! Before coming to the Center for People, I was a teacher for LPS for 11 years. Something surprising about me? I love trying new foods, love exploring new places to eat, and spending time outside.”

What’s a book, movie, or song that inspires you and why?

“This is a tough one! I have so many books, movies, and songs that have pieces here and there that continue to inspire me. There is one song that continues to inspire and motivate me and that is “This Is Me” by Keala Settle from the movie, The Greatest Showman.”

If you could instantly master any skill, what would it be and how would you use it?

“If I could master any skill, it would be to instantly learn a new language. After spending time in the pantry with so many of our shoppers, I would love to instantly learn a new language so I would be able to communicate. Sign language included!”

When faced with hard times, what was the best advice you received or the biggest lessons you learned?

“When I was really struggling, I learned to turn to myself. I had a support system, but when it comes from being hopeless to hopeful again, I needed me. I learned through that experience that I am stronger than I thought and I can do so much more than I was told I could do. Some great advice I received was that I can choose what my day can be. I now love who I am and love how far I have come.”
