Meet Taylor

Nutrition Equity and Outreach Specialist

Taylor is passionate about helping others live healthier, more informed lives – and she brings that passion to her role at Center for People.

A recent college graduate, Taylor combines her love for community, wellness, and education to make a lasting impact. She credits her years in athletics, specifically as a cross country runner, with building the discipline and resilience to everything she does.

What’s a fun or interesting fact about you that most people wouldn’t guess?

“One fun fact that many people may not know about me is that I was a collegiate cross country and track athlete! I spent two years at a community college in Kansas, and then I completed my undergrad degree in Nutrition and Public Health at Wayne State College! Go cats! I competed in several distance events on the track, but cross country has always had my heart. Running is still a big part of my life, and I credit much of my professional discipline and work ethic to the lessons I learned through years of competitive athletics.

Something else that’s interesting about me is that I’m originally from Colorado! I grew up there, and my family still lives in the area. My brother even plays football at CSU Pueblo, which makes visits back home even more exciting. While I truly enjoyed my time in Colorado, Nebraska has started to feel like home—it’s where I’m building new connections and continuing to grow!”

What’s a book, movie, or song that inspires you and why?

“Since I’m fresh out of college, I haven’t had much time for leisure reading yet—but I find that nutrition education books always inspire me! I truly believe that learning about nutrition can improve anyone’s life. I’m constantly motivated by new research, fascinating nutrition facts, and creative, healthy recipes. I love applying what I learn not only to my own lifestyle but also sharing it with the people at the Center for People, helping others make informed, empowering choices about their health.”

If you could instantly master any skill, what would it be and how would you use it?

“If I could master any skill, it would definitely be the ability to speak any language. I’d love to connect with more people around the world, learn from their experiences, and better understand different cultures!”

When faced with hard times, what was the best advice you received or the biggest lessons you learned?

“One encouraging piece of advice I’ve learned is that “Tough times don’t last, but tough people do.” I think this quote speaks volumes about how to approach challenges in life. It’s a reminder that difficult moments are temporary, but our strength, resilience, and determination can carry us through. Whenever I face setbacks or uncertainty, I think of this quote—it helps me stay grounded, focused, and motivated to keep moving forward.

My family is a big motivator for me as well. They keep me grounded and remind me to be grateful for everything in life. I truly would not be where I am without their love, support, and guidance. They inspire me every day to work hard, stay humble, and appreciate the journey!”
