What’s a fun or interesting fact about you that most people wouldn’t guess?

“I was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and when I was 5, my family fled the war and relocated to Berlin, Germany, where we lived until I was 9. At that point, we moved to Lincoln, NE, where we’ve been ever since. By the time I turned 10, I had lived in three different countries and spoke three languages.”

What’s a book, movie, or song that inspires you and why?

“The Pursuit of Happiness is a movie that has always inspired me. It shows how much you can face and handle if you stay positive and resilient. It encourages you to never give up, no matter how difficult the path may seem.”

If you could instantly master any skill, what would it be and how would you use it?

“If I could master any skill, it would be baking. I have always wanted to learn to bake all sorts of pastries, desserts, and cakes! I think it would be fun to own a small bakery that makes unique desserts. “

When faced with hard times, who has helped you get from hopeless to hopeful? What was the best advice or biggest lessons you learned?

“My parents have always been a huge support system in my life. Any time I felt like I couldn’t do something or was struggling with anything they would be there to support me. The best advice I have gotten is to focus on what I can control and let go of what I can’t. I have always been an overthinker and sometimes I just have to remember to let go of those ‘what if’ thoughts.”
