“I was born in California but grew up in Texas, where life was always an adventure. One memory that stands out is when my sister and I, during high school, would sneak off to Reynosa, Mexico, to party until the sun came up. We thought we were so clever, stuffing our beds with our hanging clothes to make it look like we were sleeping. Let’s just say it wasn’t one of my smartest moments, and the trouble we got into when my mom caught on was monumental—but looking back, it’s a story that still makes me laugh.
Most people wouldn’t guess how much I love working in my yard and soaking in the beauty of a sunset. There’s something about watching the sky transform at dusk that fills me with peace and gratitude.”
“One of my favorite songs is ‘North to Alaska.’ It was my father’s favorite, and every time I hear it, I can’t help but smile. I’m transported back to our living room, where all eight of us kids and my mom would sing and dance together. Those moments remind me of the joy and unity of family and the memories that shape who we are.”
“If I could master any skill, it would be storytelling. I’d use it to share my lessons and connect with others on a deeper level. Stories heal, inspire, and bridge gaps between people, and I’d love to make an impact through that.”
“The best advice I’ve ever received is to listen to myself, know my worth, and love myself no matter what I’ve done or where I’ve been. One of my biggest life lessons has been to embrace the moment. Dishes and laundry can wait, but our time with our parents, children, and grandchildren is precious and fleeting. Love deeply, forgive freely, and trust that life, even with its ups and downs, is a beautiful gift.
In my hardest times, my faith in the Lord carried me through. There were moments when I couldn’t see the path ahead, but God was always there, waiting for me to trust Him. Through His guidance, I’ve found strength and clarity I never knew I could have. It’s been an amazing journey, and I’m grateful for His constant presence.”
